August 29, 2008 (Sawf News) - Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon exuded grace and style in a Sapphire blue halter dress at a press conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on August 28 to promote Avon's Empowerment Bracelet.

Reese showed off her beautiful legs and well toned shoulders dressed in the Sari Gueron dress. She accessorized with matching peep toe satin sandals, the Empowerment Bracelet with silvertone infinity symbol on blue stretch cord on her left arm, and a wide gold bracelet on her right arm. Her blond bob hair was perfectly in place.

The bracelet is Avon's first global charity product designed to raise awareness about the need to speak out against the violence that affects women around the globe. The company has sold 1.5 million bracelets since March 2008 in a global fundraising effort in partnership with United Nations Development Fund for Women, (UNIFEM).

Witherspoon has taken this mission to empower women and raise awareness around the world this year, including visits in the United States and Japan.

"I find it shocking that one billion women globally -- that is one in every three women -- are affected by violence at some point in their lives. In Latin America, between 30 and 40 percent of all women aged fifteen or older have been subjected to some form of violence, most often by a member of their own family," said Witherspoon. "That's a statistic we must try to change, and the Women's Empowerment Bracelet is a great way for everyone to contribute."

As Avon's Global Ambassador, Ms. Witherspoon is Honorary Chairman of the Avon Foundation, focusing on breast cancer, domestic violence and emergency relief initiatives, and is also the spokeswoman for Avon's beauty brands and Sales Representatives.

As part of a multi-year agreement Reese will also be involved in product development initiatives, and appear globally in Avon advertising, web sites and in the company's brochures.
