April 06, 2009, (Sawf News) - Taylor Swift glittered at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5, not just because of the black and gold dress that she wore.
It was also a night of recognition for the fast rising country music star by the Country Music community.
The 19-year-old won Album of the Year for her runaway album success, Fearless, edging out George Strait, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry and Carrie Underwood.
She received her award in a black chiffon dress heavily embellished with golden sequin work, paired with black calf length studded boots. Her signature blond hair was styled in perfect ringlets. She wore thick black eyeliner, lots of black mascara and fuchsia lip color.
She also performed You're Not Sorry after magician David Copperfield conjured her on the stage.
"I think a lot of people who know me know that if I talk to you for more than five minutes, I'm probably going to write a song about you, so that being said I'd like to thank all the characters in my songs: Abigail, Hey Stephen, Tim McGraw and Romeo,” the 19-year-old said.
"The fact that you can write songs in your bedroom about your feelings and boys, and can win album of the year at the ACMs — I just didn't think that was possible," she added.
