February 27, 2010, (Sawf News) - One of the season's hot trends this year includes bold patterns. This Bolts of Lightning maillot-style suit gives the wearer a slimmer appearance while drawing notice to the unusual designs on it.
The suit is a one-piece with a deep V-neckline. It ties at the back of the neck. Both front and back are composed of a black-and-white chevron print with high-cut leg openings in the front. The maillot is lined to prevent overexposure. The back of the suit is fairly low, with modest seat coverage.
Both the ruching of the middle area and the neutral print of the maillot serve to camouflage problem areas and deliver a slimming effect. This is a suit you may prefer if you need less support at the top and more concealment than a two-piece without sacrificing style. It would flatter someone with fairly toned arms and back. The dramatic pattern of the suit would go well with simple accessories, like an oversized bag and hair worn back.
Red Carter, a former diver, swimmer and water polo player turned designer, is known for designing with sophisticated flair and more focus on technical details compared to other lines. Starting his line in 2004, the suits offer a more durable yet stylish alternative to the current takes on swimwear.
The Bolts of Lightning Maillot is hand washable. It is constructed of polyamide and elastane fabric. It is imported. The maillot, priced at $168.00, is available on Anthropologie.com.
