February 27, 2010, (Sawf News) - 'Wizards of Waverly Place' star Selena Gomez looked drop dead gorgeous at the 41st Annual NAACP Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Friday, February 26.

The awards night typically honors the accomplishments and work by men and women of color in the arts (television, recording, literature, motion picture) as well as those who, through their creative efforts, support social justice.

Selena was nominated for Outstanding Performance in a Youth/Children's Program.

Selena looked simply ethereal in a strapless white gown by Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika, teamed with a coordinating clutch bag, semiprecious earrings and hair worn up.

The seventeen-year-old star went for a formal look this time and won us over with her incredible grace. The ruching at the top and bodice of the gown hit the right notes and all that was needed was a smile from Selena!

True, she lost to Keke Palmer but sartorially speaking, the night was hers.

Hosted by Anika Noni Rose and Hill Harper, the night was lit up by the wins of Gabourey Sidibe for the film "Precious" in the outstanding actress category as well as Mo'Nique, Geoffrey Fletcher and director Lee Daniels. The film is based on the story of an abused and illiterate teenager who discovers hope in a Harlem schoolroom.

Also winning were Keri Hilson for outstanding new artist, Maxwell for male artist, Daryl "Chill" Mitchell for actor in a comedy series and Chris Rock for his documentary "Good Hair."
