Washington, Nov 15 (ANI): Music icon Madonna has reportedly made Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie furious after taking a pot-shot at their charity work.
Brangelina are said to be ‘shocked’ that the singer has not only attacked their work with orphans around the world, but also Jolie’s role as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.
The 48-year-old pop superstar, who recently adopted a Malawian infant named David Banda, said that unlike other stars, her commitment to the children in her adopted African village was going to last.
"I'm not interested in going in there like an idiot and going, 'OK, I'm going to build ten orphanages and I'll see you guys later'" Tittle-tattletoo.com quoted her, as saying.
"I could've joined the UN and become an ambassador, visited various countries and just showed up and smiled and looked concerned. But that's not getting to the root of the problem. And neither is building orphan care centres," Madonna said at the time.
A source has now told Britain's Star magazine that for Jolie, the attack seemed like a personal one, and that was why she had been left astounded.
"Angelina is shocked. She can't believe it. She was like, 'Where did that come from?' It seemed like a personal attack,” the source said.
"Madonna's remarks just sound nasty. Angelina thinks the worst part of it all is that Madonna could have used the opportunity to say something that could actually be of benefit to someone," the insider added.
Brad and Angelina are currently in India shooting the movie adaptation of Marion Pearl’s book A Mighty Heart. (ANI)
