Universal Studio chief Ron Meyer couldn't possibly have imagined the consequences of his decision to see the film with a few friends that included Pam and Bob at his Beverly Hills house two weeks ago.
The film is an unscripted mocumentary about a fictional Kazakhstani TV reporter named Borat Sagdiyev who is assigned to undertake a journey across the US to report on the "greatest country in the world." Borat, who travels in an ice cream van, is infatuated with Pamela Anderson and obsessed with marrying her.
The film stars British comedian Sasha Baron Cohen as Borat. Pamela Anderson acts as herself. Some of her scenes in the film are also based on archive footage.
Apparently Pamela's role in the film didn't go well with Kid Rock.
"Ron Meyer held a screening of Borat at his house for a bunch of people, including Pam and Bob," Page Six quotes an Anderson pal as saying. "It was the first time Bob had seen the movie, and, well, he didn't like it."
Anderson's rap singer husband was upset to an extent where he started screaming at Pamella accusing her of having humiliated him. "You'r nothing but a whore! You're a slut! How could you do that movie?" he ranted.
The outburst caught Anderson completely off guard. She had enjoyed doing the film and Kid Rock would have the sense of humor to appreciate the spoof.
Following the outburst, a freeze in their marital relations ensued. Eventually Anderson, who recently suffered a miscarriage, decided it was time to split. She walked out of her Malibu house along with sons Brandon and Dylan (from former husband Tommy Lee), allowing Kid Rock time to clear out.
Anderson's friend says, "Pam is just very happy to not be in the same house with so much passive-aggressive hostility in it."
