Her accompanying entourage immediately swung into action. They lay her down and surrounded her to screen her from all observers, while her personal security sought the assistance of club for additional security managers to "get her out as quickly as possible."

Later, two of her dancers wrapped Britney in what appeared to be a blanket-hooded poncho. She was then assisted as she walked through the crowds and out of the club.
Eye-witnesses reported seeing the pop star downing glasses of Dom Perignon champagne before she fainted.

Britney had been on the roof watching firworks bring in the New Year. "She seemed to be having a really good time, laughing with her friends. But then less than half an hour later, the security doors for VIPs at the back of the club flew open. Britney's body-guards were trying to stop any photographers taking pictures and shining torches in their eyes. But we saw Britney being carried out by about five bodyguards with one of their jackets over her head. It appeared that she couldn't walk on her own and had to be physically carried out of the nightclub"
An ambulance arrived at the hotel at 2AM in the morning. However, it was not clear if it had anything to do with Britney's collapse.
