13 Jan 2007 (Sawf News) - As the two year old friendship between the David Beckham and Tom Cruise becomes multidimensional, speculation is rife that a shared faith in Scientology could well become a new dimension.
Speaking at a news conference yesterday, David acknowledged the role played by Tom Cruise, the world’s best known Scientology evangelist, in his acceptance of the landmark $250 million five year deal to play for Los Angeles Galaxy. The deal, besides earning David 100 dollars a minute for five years, makes him world's highest paid footballer in the word.
"I talked with [Cruise] for about an hour last night and an hour the night before," Beckham said. "I asked him for his advice. ... He's a very wise man and a very good friend of mine. To have his experience and have him explain some things to me, that's a big favor."
The Beckham - Cruise friendship has famously brought their wives close and Holmes is reportedly helping Posh transition to a movie star.
Speculations that Beckhams could convert to Scientology have been fueled by reports that Posh has signed up to act in a Scientology inspired film backed by Cruise. In it, she plays “The Thetan” an immortal spiritual being Scientologists believe is present in all humans.
Posh has also reportedly accepted church literature on Scientology from her new friends, albeit that could be linked to her role in the film.
The Scientology faith, founded by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard is known to target high-profile stars as new converts.
A spokeswoman for the Church of Scientology in Los Angeles told the New York Daily yesterday she could not confirm if the Beckhams had shown any interest in the religion.
"It is not something that I can answer for them," she said.

Again...to each his own. Their decision should not upset and surprise us all . They are obviously doing the right thing considering their wealth and position in life.
It is like Cat Stevens(Y.Islam) turning to Muslim...He is his own man...and so does the Beckhams.

It is interesting when someone knows nothing about a subject or in this case Scientology they speculate and make decisions about something they know nothing about.
It is kind of like filling in the mystery with their own ideas?
Before anyone can make any kind of decision. They should first do a full investigation at the source and try it and do it. Then they would have some knowledge of it and then they would be able to make a sensible decision.
I did that twenty years ago with this group and I made my decision. I am a Scientologist!

I hope they don't fall into the bunch of nuts that are involved with this farce of a 'religion'. Ron Hubbard was a failed Science-fiction writer who made up a science-fiction religion...all the way down to aliens...it's pretty crazy stuff and I can't believe people are taking so seriously.
