Britney Spears gets a reality check
Posted on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 (EST)
The real reason for Britney's absence from the front row seat reserved for her at the Heatherette show at Fashion Week was not the expected presence of Paris Hilton but a reality check meted out to the pop tart by heiress-model Lydia Hearst.

14 February 2007 (Sawf News) - The real reason for Britney's absence from the front row seat reserved for her at the Heatherette show at Fashion Week on Tuesday has now been revealed by the New York Daily News. She wasn't trying to avoid Paris Hilton, who was expected to walk the runway, but was meted out a reality check by heiress-model Lydia Hearst

The pop tart made it to the show but did an about face just as she was about to enter through the backdoor. According to sources, on arrival the toxic singer requested a pocketbook purse be presented to her. She promised to carry it to her front-row seat where she would be photographed with the coveted clutch.

To her chagrin Hearst, who had designed the PUMA bags with Heatherette's Richie Rich and Traver Rains, politely declined Britney's offer leaving the pop tart with no other option but to seek attention elsewhere.

The heiress, who had just 100 pieces of the clutch, told The Daily News, "I'm only giving the bag to accomplished young women who are doing something positive to affect the world around them. They are women I look up to and respect, like Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker and Anne Hathaway.

They share the same high standards of giving back to the communities in which they live."

Clearly, the hard drinking sartorially challenged Britney did not measure up to her yardstick!

Britney's spokeswoman Leslie Sloane Zelnick says, "It's not true."
