After a week of particularly heavy partying in New York City, Britney Spears entered rehab two days ago, having finally decided to heed the advice of her friends and well wishers, reports TV's Extra.
However, according to TMZ, she checked herself out of the facility less than twenty-four hours later!
People has now confirmed that the rehab facility was Eric Clapton's Crossroads Centre in Antigua.
According to Usmagazine.com, after the hard partying in New York last week, Britney headed south to Florida Monday with her two infants 17-month-old Sean Preston and 5-month-old Jayden James. She checked into Four Seasons Hotel in Miami around midnight and stayed there till Valentine's Day when she unexpectedly cut her trip short after drinking one glass of champagne from a bottle of Dom Perignon that she ordered to her room.
"She was very eager to [leave] because something happened," a source tells Us.
Britney, is now on her way back to Los Angeles.
Her former personal assistant, Felicia Culotta, in a letter to Hollywood.com's That Other Blog wrote Tuesday that Britney's friends and family were trying to get her help, but their efforts so far had been of no avail.
"There's just so much you can do to help a person," Culotta wrote. "I cannot convince her in ANY way to love herself. ... I cannot save her from herself, nor can I commit her to any type of treatment program against her wishes and will. I am throwing my hands up and realizing that I am helpless over another."
