Anna Nicole Smith (File Photo). Photo Credit: AFP19 February 2007 (Sawf News) - The last person to see Anna Nicole, her body guard and close friend Moe, may not know how the playboy model died, but he thinks he knows why she died - because she missed her son Daniel.
After the death of her son Daniel in September, Moe told Mark Steines of ETonline, "The depression was unreal. The only thing that gave her any ray of hope and light was Dannielynn. I felt that if she were to pass away, it probably would have been [in a situation] where Dannielynn was nowhere around."
Whenever she was depressed, only Dannielynn could lift her spirits.
"When she got in the depression mode in the house in the Bahamas, it was easy to just bring Dannielynn to her," he says. "Dannielynn [would] open up her big beautiful eyes and look at her mama."
However, even Dannielynn could work her charm just for a few hours, after which Anna Nicole would fall back to sleep.
"Then every time she wakes up, she always talks about how Daniel was scared," he reveals. "She always thought that Daniel would come back. ... She always wakes up out of a dream talking about how Daniel was calling for her."
Moe, a registered paramedic, recounts how he invoked Anna Nicole's love for Dannielyn as the stricken playboy bunny lay on a stretcher heading to the ambulance.
"'If you got anything in you baby girl, please, come back. We all need you. Dannielyn needs you,'" he says. "That's what I always used to say to her when she used to get depressed about Daniel," he says. "[I would tell her,] 'Your little daughter, Dannielynn, she needs you. No one else can take care of her like you do.'"
Moe laments that people don't realize Anna Nicole was also a mother.
"That's what we forget," he says. "We have to remember this. A mother that lost her child, the only child she knew for 20 years before Dannielynn came."
"It doesn't matter what they say," he concludes. "I know what she died of -- a broken heart."
