Photo Credit: Splash News19 Feb 2007 (Sawf News) - Because of the dramatic manner in which Britney chose to shave her head, in full glare of the paparazzi cameras, everyone is inclined to attribute the shear madness to her emotionally frail state. However, Britney's theatrics may well have been designed to hide the mane albeit embarrassing imperative behind the shave.
Britney can avoid the paparazzi when she wants to as she demonstrated when she visited Hollywood's chic Mondrian hotel on Saturday (17 Feb 2007) supporting a blonde wig, less than 24 hours after she shaved her head off.
She managed to give the tailing paparazzi a slip by driving her car through the carefully hidden indoor garage of the exclusive hotel frequented by celebrities.
Had she chosen to be discrete Britney could well have avoided the paparazzi in the hair salon on Friday. However, while you can be discrete when you run the shears through your hair you can't be discrete about the fact that you are bald. The question that Britney would then have been confronted with is – Why?
One smart way of avoiding that question was to shave her head in full view of the public and the paparazzi, with some theatrics thrown in to boot. That way everyone assumed they knew why she was doing it – because she was cracking up!
A lot of young men and women chose to bare their scalp when confronted with embarrassing hair loss. Could bald spots have been the reason behind Britney's buzz cut?

Photo Credit: Splash NewsThese photos - taken less than two weeks ago as Britney left a New York hotel with her locks tied back - show how badly damaged her hair had become prior to her dramatic head shave. The pop tart may have become so frustrated with her extensions that she cut them off in order to start a new head of hair from scratch.
According to Emily Wynne-Hughes, who was in the parlor, when Britney dramatically ran the shears through her hair, "She [Britney] just said she was tired of having things (hair extensions) plugged into her. She said she was tired of people touching her. It seemed like she was kind of sick of it all, whatever it all is. She was very scatter-brained and upset. I think she wanted to be left alone."
Britney was distraught when she shaved her head off. Everyone assumes she shaved her head off because she was distraught when it could well be that she was distraught because she had to shave her head off?
The star reportedly became aware of her hair problem while she was partying in Las Vegas. She was spotted entering a salon at the Palms hotel and casino in Las Vegas at the end of January, according to reports. Inside staffers found her hair was so badly damaged from repeated dye jobs, bleaching and extensions that it had broken off and thinned to the point "where bald spots had begun to appear," an inside source claimed.
