Photo Credit: Fernando Allende / Splash News4 March 2007 (Sawf News) - Selita Ebanks, who was in the news recently because of her rumored secret wedding with Nick Canon, has more in her heart than just love, according to her former lover and manager, Marc Chamblin.
Last week Selita Ebanks, 24, denied she had wed Nick Cannon, 26, in Las Vegas late February, after just three weeks of dating.
I'm not married," she told People. "We're just two young people and we're happy. I laugh a lot and he laughs a lot and I think that's what's important. I support him and he supports me."
Marc Chamblin, former manager and boyfriend of Ebanks, claims the svelte Victoria's Secret Angel's romance with Nick Canon is nothing more than a desperate attempt to become a famous actress.
Ebanks fired Chamblin as her manager several months ago telling him, "I don't want to date you and have you be my manager. I just want to date you."
Chamblin was disappointed, because in the one year as her manager he had found her an agent and a publicist. Matters came to a head, however, when two weeks back Ebanks made a trip to Vegas with her current boyfriend Nick Cannon.
Chamblin claims that he was still dating Ebanks when she went to Vegas. Just days before she left, he had bought her gifts valued at $15,000 from Cartier and Tiffany! He goes so far as to claim that there was even a third person in the "field" at that time - Tad Kornegay of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Canadian Football League team.
In an email to Page Six the jilted lover claims that Ebank went with Nick just to get publicity
"She told me over the phone that she is doing this for press and she is sorry," Chamblin laments. "I met her on the set of a Kanye West video through my ex, June. She is a home wrecker, as far as June is concerned. She pretended to be June's friend to get to me.
"She wanted to be more than a model," Chamblin continued. "She wanted to sing at first, so I put her in the studio. But she can't sing. Then she wanted to be an actress so I got her a publicist and an agent . . . but she can't act, either."
Ebanks' lawyer, Marty Singer, dismisses Chamblin's claims.
"She broke up with him in December. He's been pursuing her. He's obsessed with her. He has no credibility by claiming he was with her on Valentine's Day when there are e-mails from him desperate to have her come meet him - and she denied him."
