Photo Credit: Darren Banks / Splash NewsLondon, Mar 5: Staff at the Promises clinic, where Britney Spears checked herself into last month, has been put on a ‘suicide watch’, after the singer reportedly tried to hang herself with a bed sheet.
Britney had friends and family worried sick when paramedics were rushed to the clinic recently, and now a friend has revealed that medics were called because she tried to commit suicide.
Just before she tried to hang herself, the pal said, Britney wrote 666 on her shaved head, and ran around the clinic screaming "I am the Antichrist!"
"She is still very vulnerable. Last Saturday she said she had the number 666 written onto her bald head. She was crying, and shouting, ‘I am the Antichrist!' The clinic people just didn't know what to do. Then she started screaming, ‘I'm a fake! I'm a fake!' It must have been really frightening," the News of the World quoted the pal, as saying.
"Later that night she tried to kill herself. She attached a sheet to a light and tied it around her neck. Paramedics were called, but luckily she was unhurt," the pal added.
A source at the clinic also revealed to the paper that Britney had realized what a ‘rock’ her estranged hubby was, and that she not only wanted them to get back together, but also to have another baby.
"Britney has realized what a rock Kevin has been to her, and how out of control she has acted recently. She has been talking to Kevin every night for hours on the phone, telling him she still loves him. She just wants to be with him again, and thinks having another baby will seal their marriage," the source said.
The source insisted that the singer was also much happier and calmer than she was at the time she checked herself into the clinic.
"Britney seems much happier and has calmed down a lot. She's a completely different Britney from the beginning of the week," the source said.
Another source close to Britney said that the singer was now thinking about renewing her vows with K-Fed.
"Kevin has been a real tower of strength for her and she has finally decided to give their marriage another shot. She thought things were over between her and Kevin after his wild partying and gambling," the source said.
"She felt he had deserted her and left her to bring up their two children on her own. She never even dreamed she would take him back. But Kevin's like a different man now. He's never been so caring before, and is really worried about Britney.
"He's been Britney's rock during her difficult time, and she wants to give him another chance. This week she even asked if she could have a night away from the Promises Clinic with Kevin. She's still waiting to hear if they will give her a pass so that they can go out for a romantic meal together.
"Kevin has also taken their two little boys to see their mum in rehab," the source added.
Much to the dismay of her family, friends and fans, the singer’s life has been spiraling out of control ever since she dumped Federline last year.
Since then, she has been indulging in wild and boozy parties, been snapped without panties, and the latest shaving of her head and getting tattooed.
The singer also hopped in and out of rehab before seeking help for a third time when Federline threatened to take away their sons if she didn’t get professional help. (ANI)
I am horrified at the media sensationalizing and constant badgering of celebrities. You and all others like you, should be ashamed of yourself.
If the media hadn't hounded this YOUNG woman for the last couple years, she wouldn't be in such trouble now. You killed a princess, now you are after a pop star. When is enough enough? Leave her alone and let her get well.

If those things are true about Britney writing 666 on her head and screaming she's a fake, then she's really, really disturbed and will need a lot of therapy to get better. I have a fear that doing all the drugs she did might have screwed up her brain chemistry and maybe she's psychotic.
But then again, she's so used to living free and wild and riding on that money that this may be her. Or possibly she just acts out and is very immature because she's been spoiled by money. She seems to have very poor impulse control, something you wouldn't expect out of a superstar.... Or would expect, lol. But really, it sounds like she's either very disurbed, or at least very upset with her life. I hope she gets better.

Shirley Fedorak writes that the media "killed a princess" and is now "after a pop star."
What she fails to acknowledge is that *she* is the one seeking out the information you offer. The media is hardly putting a gun to her head, and demanding that she read about Britney's sordid antics.
Any intro-level class in economics teaches us that when people like Ms. Fedorak stop "demanding" their celebrity news, the media will stop "supplying" it.

Now more than ever, Britney Spears embodies the spirit of American pop culture. Perhaps she is the antichrist, but if so it is only by proxy. She is indeed a fake, because the tabloid world that she inhabits makes authenticity all but impossible. If she knows herself to be a fake, it is possible that she is in some ways more sane now than she ever was, although at the same time she's obviously coming unglued.
The whole episode reminds me Howard Beale in Network: after he lost his viability as a news anchor, he could only hold on to his fame by descending into madness. He became at once a tragic saint and a hollow corporate shell. Britney seems to be following a similar path; I hope that it offers her some kind of enlightenment, although the likelihood of this does not look good.

I think this entire Britney thing is ridiculous and funny. She's a spoiled brat who wants attention. I never thought she had any talent and that's been more than proven now that she's had to grow up and find out she's not a teenie boppers wet dream anymore. She's enormously immature and self involved.
This white trash has what, $100 million ? Then she runs off and gets married and has 2 babies one right after the other, then remember the pictures of how she drove in a car with that baby in her arms?
What is wrong with you people that you can't see her for what she is? She's a spoiled brat who wants attention and expects to always have that attention (no matter what she has to do to get it) along with always having her way.

I mean, Hell No!! Britney you need to fix up about your taking back K-Fed. He is one of the reasons why you have gone insane, that and the fact that you "supposedly" cheated on JT and now your Karma is hitting you in a fashion, and yes I know your feeling venerable but don't sink any lower than you are now.
Having another baby is not going to stop Kevin form cheating, it didn't stop that young lady that had his baby before you wheeled your way in. Did you forget how you and Kevin got together in the first place? You took him away from another woman and yes you're not all to blame but you have got what you deserve as JT would say, so now you have to be a woman and a mother to your kids and fix up Britters.
Yes I know Kevin is the father of your children and you may love him but I think you the kids and Kevin need to gather some of that money you have and hire or rent one of those secluded islands and relax and talk about the mess you're in. You have a lot of fans Britters and remember there are some that are going mad because you are going off the rails. Your mum and dad are to blame just as much as your record company, and you know what if you're like you are now then how is "Jamie Lynn i think that her name" going to be when she grows up?

Classic example of someone who is way too used to getting what they want when they want it. What has Britney done to give back to others over the years? She's self-involved to a fault and now it's collapsing in on her.
She's a human being and I hope she gets better, but it's ridiculous how some people are making excuses for her and blaming the media. Give ME fame, privilege, and fortune and I'll FIND a way to live with the media. Britney, dust yourself off, take some responsibility, and enjoy the opportunities you've been given that so many others can only dream of having. Poor girl..... I don't think so!

Ohh my gosh, seriously now, when will the media finally come to realise that they are ruining the lives of celebrities bit-by-bit?
If Britney had not of been so badly hounded and mauled by every newspaper and news bulletin since she became famous, she would never be in this state that she is in now!
After such a rapid increase in media coverage, she has spiraled out of control, does that not actually tell the media anything about the level of negative impact they are having on people's lives?
As someone has already said (with a good point!) the media KILLED Princess Diana, will they not stop until they kill the one person who has been looked up towards for most of so many people's childhood.
I am 15 years old and already I can see that the media is nothing but a bunch of bloodthirsty hounds scrabbling for any scrap of information regardless of how it affects someone. Celebrities are just normal people so why is it that every aspect of their lives are magnified and condemned to such an extent that it is leading them to such startling realms of depression that they are willing of committing suicide?
Does the media not realise that by the magnification of such aspects as a spot (shock horror) or a few extra pounds in weight (heaven forbid) and making it such a hellish thing to have, they are actually sending a worrying message to people all over the world; the message being that any imperfection will make you an unworthy human being.
I call upon anyone who will listen to take a stand against these pathetic, cheap and tacky magazines/newspapers in a long-overdue bid to get them to finally let celebrities live their lives the way that THEY choose.
Warmest well-being wishes out to Britney Spears and any other celebrities suffering at this point in time, and a quick word to all the media - LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!

I think she has a serious mental disorder but I don't think it is post-partum. I think she has borderline personality disorder. My sister shaved her head and did some crazy things too before being diagnosed and getting help. It is sad!

I think this is all a very well crafted move made by Britney. I don't really think she is sick at all, but rather this is an elaborate cover for her partying and drug use. Just because she is famous and rich she still is a mother and should have her children's interests as her top priority. As a single mother I am disgusted by all of this, and she still has custody of her children?! Any other average person pulling stunts like she has would have had their kids yanked from them so fast by social services it would make Britney's head spin. Grow up--its not just about you anymore!!

I Feel Really Sorry For Britney at the moment i think that what has happened was absolutely tragic. Britney has had so much stick of the press lately over the parenting skills that where unjustified and cruel especially with her first son Sean Preston. I am just surprised at how well she coped and that it didn't happen sooner. I think that she is a great mother and that everybody should just leave her alone and let her get better and do things she does best (Perform and be a mother to her two beautiful son's)
I have every confidence that Britney will come out of Rehab a new a better person i think that it was the best decision for her to go their.
what has happened to Britney is tragic especially when she shaved her hair. I looked at pictures of her before she shaved her hair and she was so beautiful Why? I don't know the reason why she shaved her hair all off but whatever the reason i sympathise with her i really do.
All that is left to say is thank god that somebody found her before she hung herself (if it's true)
It is so sad what has happened to Britney but like i said before i have every confidence that she will get better. She's a strong person and will get through it.
