In his interview to British GQ Timberlake had said of Britney, "Honestly, I am so far removed from that situation."
Speaking at a press day for his new movie Shrek Justin told People he is happy Britney entered rehab and is now well on the road to recovery.
"She's a great woman. I'm rooting for her," he said. "[It] seems like she's getting everything under control now."
Timberlake, has had two long albeit unsuccessful relationships, first with Britney and then with Cameron Diaz. He split from the Charlie's Angels star in January this year after being together for nearly four years.
Speaking of his single status he rues, "The advantages are that you don't get in as many arguments, and the disadvantage is that you're talking to yourself."
There are indications his single status maybe short lived.
Following their split, Timberlake and Diaz have occasionally been seen together in public sparking media speculation of a rekindled romance.
Timeberlake has also been seen with Scarlett Johansson who starred in his latest video, "What Goes Around…"
However, his relationship with Jessica Biel, 25, may well be the one to watch.
The two were first seen together at Prince's Golden Globes after-party, where Cameron was said to have started a row with the 26-year-old singer after seeing them together. Later the relationship appeared to have cooled off.
People reports in its new issue that Timberlake and Biel were together at a barbecue party at his L.A. house last week where things between the pair got "hot and heavy."
