10 May 2007 (Sawf News) - Jennifer Hudson was the featured entertainer at the 2007 Lupus Foundation of America's (LFA) 4th Annual Awards Gala, held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel - Washington, DC on May 9 2007.
The 2006 Academy Award Winner for Best Supporting Actress was joined by actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner (Theo Huxtable from "The Cosby Show"), who served as Master of Ceremonies to honor U.S. Senator Richard Durbin, (D-IL), the Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith Foundation, Lisa Price, founder of the Carol's Daughter Cosmetics, and H. Thomas Watkins, President & CEO of Human Genome Sciences on behalf of LFA for their efforts to bring national attention and resources to the fight against lupus.

Jennifer Hudson thrilled the audience at the LFA Awards Gala. She used her four-octave range to
give a breath-taking performance for 550 guests attending the event.
Ms. Hudson, who was a finalist in 2005 on the Fox TV Network hit series, American Idol, rose to stardom two months ago when she won her first Academy Award for her role in the recent hit movie, Dreamgirls.
The Oscar winner singer has been fitting in a lot of substantial performances in her very busy schedule. Hudson performed at the Annual Costume Institute gala 2007 on Monday (May 07, 2007) in New York City, where she sang three songs. She ended up with "I Am Changing" but the standing ovation that followed at one stage appeared would not end. Hudson responded with an encore of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls.
