July 19, 2007 (Sawf News): Two time Academy award winner Hilary Swank has joined the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Campaign and as its spokesperson she wants to set an example by cutting off her hair to make real hair wigs for women suffering from cancer.
It's wonderful to know that my hair is gonna help someone feel better through the process of getting treatment,” she told Access Hollywood. The campaign is part of the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
“It's growing and hopefully I can get a little more length so I can get a nice ponytail to donate,” told Swank, who will star in a Pantene Beautiful Lengths print public service announcement and encourage people across the US and Canada to follow her example.
Swank, not worried about her after-look, told, “I think having short hair is really fun and it looks like it may be the new look. So it will if anything just make me hip. Finally a reason to be hip!”
