According to TMZ, the "abuse investigation" into Britney Spears involves allegations of poor dental hygiene, as well as poor eating and sleeping habits for her kids.
The existence of the investigation surfaced in legal papers filed Monday, 27 Aug 2007 by K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan during the course of an unscheduled hearing in the Britney's child custody case.
The hearing was attended by Britney's lawyer, Dennis Wasser, K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, and a lawyer from the Los Angeles County Counsel who is assigned to the dependency court.
A follow-up hearing in the custody case has been scheduled for Sept. 4.
There was no leak from DCFS which as a practice goes about its job without any public comments.
An anonymous complaint raising child abuse concerns was reportedly filed earlier with DCFS on July 2 but not investigated.
In the past too Britney has come under the microscope, once jointly with K-Fed. In 2006 DCFS investigated her after she was spotted driving with Sean Preston not strapped in a car seat. In April, 2006 both Britney and K-Fed were investigated after Sean Preston reported fell out of a high chair.

I am writing in regards to this unfortunate incident with Ms. Britney Spear's Custody battle.
I have been watching the daily chronicles of this actresses life, and it's sad, because she is blaming her shortcomings on everything and everyone but the person in the mirror.
I feel sad for those children because they were not asked to be brought into this world, so therefore, should not be abused nor neglected. If it were anyone else who was caught driving with their child on their lap, they would have been sent to prison and the child would have been taken over by the state.
If Ms. Britney Spears had gotten into an auto accident during her episode where her child was injured, would it have heightened her awareness????
You can clearly see the saddened look on the faces of her boys. They are not "happy" children and they should be. So, now they will grow up with problems because she cannot handle her own???
No one pulls someone down the wrong path except for the individual. There are hundreds of actors and actresses out there, and exposure is allowed if you allow it…..
It's sad because Ms. Spears will never see her cause. But, it will filter through to her children.
