Photo Credit: Glenn Harris / PR Photos9 September 2007 (Sawf News) - Vanessa Hudgens emailed risqué photos of herself to Nickelodeon star Drake Bell a couple of years ago, before she became famous, a source revealed to People Magazine.
However, according to Bell's rep, Jill Fritzo, "Drake says he never received those photos."
Hudgens, appeared in a 2006 episode of Nickelodeon as the girlfriend of Bell's character.
Risqué photos of 18-year-old Hudgens posing in various states of undress, including completely naked first appeared on the web Thursday, 6 Sep 2007.
In a statement issued on Sep 7, Hudgens asked for forgiveness from her fans, and said that the situation has left her embarrassed.
"I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust mean the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends," she said.
Hudgens, who plays a hearty science and math genius in High School Musical is dating her costar Zac Efron in the show. The two are currently in Australia where Efron is promoting Hairspray.
Meanwhile, Disney Channel which is negotiating with the High School Musical cast, including Hudgens, for a third installment of the movie series, appears to be standing by its leading lady.
"Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she's learned a valuable lesson,” Patti McTeague, a spokesperson for the network said.
