Radio host JJ Ryan at KFRX radio in Lincoln, Nebraska had earlier claimed to OK! magazine that Riley Giles, who is professional snowboarder, told him that he's engaged to girlfriend Lindsay Lohan.
The 21-year-old star has been pictured sporting an engagement ring but according to TMZ.com, the 'new' rock that Lohan has been seen wearing, was actually a gift from her father, Michael and the other ring she wears was a Cartier creation that she has had for some time.
Lindsay has been living together with Riley since the two met in the rehab unit in Utah. Giles is reported to be engaged to another woman Breanna Tierney.
The news of the engagement came straight from Tierney's mother who said that seeing pictures of Lindsay and Riley had left Breanna heartbroken.
"Riley just stopped calling Bree and never told her about Lindsay. She found out by seeing photos. It destroyed her," she said.
Riley has a colorful past. He has spent 10 days in prison after being arrested twice for DUI. He has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery or subterfuge by Utah's Summit County Sheriff, after faking prescriptions for anti-depressant drug Xanax.
Lindsay has made no secret of her strong feelings for the professional snowboarder.
She recently said: "I love his attitude to my Hollywood stardom. He finds it very funny and that's what I love about him. He has a good sense of humor.
"I know I'm back in Los Angeles and he's in Utah but we'll be able to visit
each other. I can go and see him at weekends and he can come out to see me
too."
