Photo Credit: Splash News/FileA little over two months after they rekindled their romance, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson have split again, just as reports surfaced that they were engaged after Kate was spotted wearing a ring in Boston where she is on location for 'Bride Wars'.
The ring, it was later explained, was required for her role in the film, though Kate was seen wearing it off the set also.
"It was a pretty bad breakup," a friend of Owen told People. "Owen said it was a tough one. He definitely doesn't want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him."
Following the split, both Kate and Owen have been spotted out and about with the opposite sex - Kate was spotted with Bride Wars co-star Steve Howey at Boston's Liberty Hotel bar on May 9 and Owen was spotted at Upstairs in NYC with two women on May 11.
Kate, 29, and Owen, 39, first started to date in September 2006. Their breakup in June 2007 is believed to have triggered Wilson's depression and drug use, and subsequent attempt at suicide in August 2007.
Following Owen's suicide attempt Kate spoke about him for the first time in December 2007 saying, "Owen is such a lovely person, and I love him dearly. And I wish him beautiful things - health and everything that he desires in life."
The two started to see each other again in late February.
