Photo Credit: Splash / PR Photos / Sawf NewsJune 6, 2008 (Sawf News) - Ryan Phillipe and Abbie Cornish went public with their months old relationship when they attended the 2008 Australian in Film Breakthrough Awards as a couple, holding hands throughout the evening.
"They were adorable," a guest told People. "He had his arm around her and they were cozy and comfortable."
Cornish, was honored with a Breakthrough Award at the event.
The 25-year-old Australian actress is speculated to have been a factor in the break down of Ryan's eight year marriage with Reese Witherspoon.
Ryan, 33, who has termed the divorce in October 2007 as "the darkest, saddest place I had ever been" denies the speculation.
"To look and search for these salacious reasons, to pin it on a person, or a moment in someone's life, it's not realistic."
Since the divorce, Reese has cautiously moved into a relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal.
In March, Ryan told USA Today that "It's bizarre" to see Reese with Jake.
The former couple has two children, eight-year-old daughter Ava and three-year-old son Deacon.
