The troubled singer, who was recently hospitalized for 10 days, after she collapsed on June 14, and was diagnosed with lung scarring that could lead to emphysema, told Rolling Stones Magazine:
"I've never been to rehab - I mean, done it properly. I'm young, and I'm in love, and I get my nuts off sometimes.
"To be honest, my husband's away, I'm bored, I'm young. I felt like there was nothing to live for. It's just been low ebb."
Amy's husband Blake Fielder-Civil is currently serving time in Pentonville Prison for assaulting a pub landlord and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Amy married on-off boyfriend Blake in Florida on 18 May 2007.
Amy performed at the 90th birthday concert for Nelson Mandela on June 27, taking time off from hospital, singing her best-known songs Rehab and Valerie. She ended the show with the Specials' 1984 anthem Free Nelson Mandela, but later changed the lyrics to say "Free Blaky my fella."
Following her shocking confession, the 24-year-old singer, who has won five Grammy awards, has been put under 24 hour watch by her recording label, reports the Daily Mail.
A guard has been posted at the entrance to her house in Camden North London and no one can enter without approval.
