August 4, 2008 (Sawf News) - Mary Kate Olsen's lawyer has denied reports that her client was seeking immunity from prosecution before co-operating with federal investigators, and claimed Olsen was not involved with the drugs found in her friend Heath Ledger's apartment.
"Despite tabloid speculation, Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them," Michael C. Miller said in a statement released on Monday, August 4.
The statement followed press reports that Olsen was not ready to co-operate with federal investigators unless she was granted immunity from prosecution, and that investigators could subpoena the 22-year-old actress.

Australian actor Heath Ledger, 28, was found dead in his New York apartment on Tuesday, January 22.
An autopsy determined the cause of death to be an accidental overdose of prescription pain, anxiety and sleep medication.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is probing the death. Its investigators, who have interviewed Ledger's doctors and former girl friend Michelle Williams, have yet to determine the source of two powerful painkillers consumed by Ledger: Oxycodone and Vicodin.
A source told People that the only person left to be interviewed is Olsen.
"We are also still waiting for information from pharmacy purchases by Ledger in Italy and England," the source said.
