While introducing Hayek, 42, Holmes remarked that "Hayek doesn't sound very Mexican" and then explained to the viewers that her last name came from her father, who is Lebanese.
To confirm, she asked Hayek: "You're a lesbian?"
An unfazed Hayek said, "No - Leb-an-ese" slowly, to make sure Holmes got it.
