Alexander was sentenced to jail after he failed to undergo a court mandated alcohol rehabilitation program for a 2006 DUI arrest, reports Star magazine.
"Jason messed up and he knows it," an insider tells the magazine. "He's going to keep his head down, stay out of trouble and hopefully he won't have to serve the entire 10 days."
A childhood friend of Britney, Alexander married her in Las Vegas at 5:30am on January 3, 2004. The marriage was annulled by a judge 55 hours later.
