February 04, 2009, (Sawf News) - Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman and Geoffrey Rush, were honored with special edition stamps by the Australian post office.

The four stars, all Oscar winners, were named legends of the year and presented 24-carat gold replicas of special edition 55 cents twins stamps, one of which shows them in their Oscar winning role and the other looking their glamorous best.

Russell Crowe, Oscar winner for Gladiator, attended a special ceremony on Australia's national holiday along with Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush.

Blanchett, who won her Oscar for Aviator, said she felt "utterly, deeply humbled and chuffed by the fact I'm on a stamp."

"I'm going to be licked by millions of Australians and I can't wait."

Kidman, 41, who was honored with Companion of the Order of Australia in 2006, is excited her children will one day be able to "lick a stamp, put it on an envelope and say 'that's my mum.'"

Kidman, who won an Oscar for The Hours said, "Something like this - when you see your face on a stamp - says 'wow'".

The Shine star, Geoffrey Rush, said he had grown up in the 1950s and 60s when "the only person on a stamp was the Queen."

"It's a classy thing to know you're on security paper," he said.
