February 04, 2009, (Sawf News) - Jessica Alba worked hard to get back in shape for the Campari calendar shoot less than six months after the birth of daughter Honor Marie on June 7, 2008.
But strenuous workouts didn't work for the Fantastic Four actress, a frequent name on "Hot 100" section of Maxim.
"[The workouts] were horrible," she tells Elle magazine's March issue. "I cried. And I haven't worked out since."
So what worked for her?
"I wore a girdle," the 28-year-old actress says. "Eight weeks after my girlfriend had her baby, you could see her six-pack. She told me to put an elastic band around my waist - any kind of band or girdle works."
"I didn't recover as fast as she did," Alba adds. I don't have a six-pack - that's just not my body at all."
Had it not been for the Campari shoot, Jessica could have taken much longer to shed the pregnancy weight because her husband, Cash Warren, is always happy with the way she looks.
"Whether I'm dressed as a boy or wearing a gown, he's pretty cool about it all. He doesn't want to change me. He's always like, 'Okay, whatever makes you happy.'"
Between gymming and labor, Alba would surprisingly probably choose the latter!
"Contractions aren't that bad," she says. "If you've ever had bad cramps? That's what they're like. But that moment when they put the baby on your chest - that's deep. It's a deep experience."
Something other than workouts can make Jessica cry: being away from her daughter, something she now needs to do having resumed her career.
"It sucks; it's the worst thing ever. But we Skype, so I can see her on video. The worst is when you can see her little chubby hands grab the screen, and I'm not there…I never cried before. Just being a mother is making me a big, weepy mess."
