"They aren't split yet, but they are having problems," a source close to the couple tells OK!
Justin's glad eye is the chief irritant, says another friend.
"They've been fighting lately. Justin has always loved women - singing about them, looking at them, flirting with them. He can't help it!"
"Jessica's seen Justin flirt, but says it's all in good fun," the friend adds. "But she has told him that if they get engaged, it's got to end. Things seem a bit tense with them, but they're trying to get past the rough patches."
It has just been a week since the couple was seen together. Early in March the couple made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live. They playacted a sketch based on the long-running U.S. comic strip, Cathy. There were also reports of a possible wedding in Italy this summer with Timberlake having been spotted visiting New York jewelers to pick the right bling.
Justin recently bought a pad in New York City and asked Jessica to move in with him.
Despite all the positive signs, the OK! source sounds a grim note.
"Justin asked one of his longtime best friends how much time he'd need to give Jessica if he asked her to move out of their New York City apartment without seeming like a jerk," the source says.
