March 31, 2009, (Sawf News) - Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban named their nine-month-old daughter, Sunday, because the baby turned the 'dreaded' loneliness they associated with the day into abundant joy.
Speaking on an episode of Ellen DeGeneres that airs on Wednesday, April 1, Urban, 41, told the talk show host:
"Particularly when you don't have someone in your life ... in my experience, Sunday was the loneliest day. It went from being sort of the most dreaded day of the week for us to being the most joyous day, because we just had a family."
Nicole and Keith, who first met at a black-tie ball for Australians living in Los Angeles in January 2005, married on June 25, 2006, at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in Sydney.
They welcomed their first child, daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, on July 7, 2008, in Nashville, Tennessee, where they have now settled.
Talking of Sunday Rose's upbringing in their adapted homeland, Urban told Ellen, "I think she may say, 'Good day, ya'll.' A nice mix."
