He later apologized for his remark only to recant the apology today on twitter.
“Yeah, I'm taking my apology back! I stand by calling her a dumb bitch, just like she's standing by her words from yesterday too,” he just tweeted.
Miss California Carrie Prejean, who was a clear front runner in the contest till she voiced her opinion on gay marriage in response to a question from Perez, believes she lost the crown because her answer didn’t go down well with the gay celebrity blogger.
"It did cost me my crown," Prejean told Billy Bush of Access Hollywood and The Billy Bush Show on satellite radio show Monday. "I wouldn't have had it any other way. I said what I feel. I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that's all I can do."
“Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suite?” Hilton asked Carrie.
“I think it is great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same sex marriage or opposite sex marriage.
“In my country, and in my family, I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” responded Carrie.
The crown went to Miss North Carolina.
