April 27, 2009, (Sawf News) - Salma Hayek and her French billionaire husband François-Henri Penault exchanged vows for the second time in Venice on Saturday, April 25.
The couple married in a low key ceremony on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2009, in the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in central Paris.
Their second wedding reception at Venice's Teatro La Fenice was befitting their social status. It was attended by 150 guests that included Penélope Cruz, Edward Norton, Woody Harrelson, Olivier Martinez, Luis Miguel, Ashley Judd, Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Bono, Gael García Bernal, Enrique Murciano, David Blaine, Ziyi Zhang, Anna Wintour and former French President Jacques Chirac.
Hayek walked down the aisle wearing a Balenciaga wedding gown with a long veil by Nicholas Ghesquiere. Her hair was styled in a bun and she held a bouquet of orchids and stephanotis with crystals.
The couple's 19-month-old daughter, Valentina Paloma, was a flower girl, along with Francois-Henri's son and daughter from his first marriage, Francois, 10 and Mathilde, 8.
Pinault is the father of Hayek's daughter, Valentina, born in September 2007
Hayek, 42, met French luxury goods mogul Pinault, who turns 47 on May 28, in Venice on May 2006. They started dating shortly thereafter, but kept their relationship low key. In March 2007 they announced their engagement and Hayek's pregnancy.
The couple broke their engagement in July when Hayek's rep told USA Today:
"We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been canceled. There will be no further comment."
