May 10, 2009, (Sawf News) - Prince William has completed basic single-engine helicopter training on Squirrel HT1 (Eurocopter AS3 50BB) at the Defense Helicopter Flying School (DHFS) at RAF Shawbury.
Wills, 26, who enrolled to become a RAF search and rescue pilot in January, will now undergo advanced twin-engine helicopter training on Griffin HT1 (Bell 412 EP) helicopter.
The prince will then train on Sea King rescue helicopters at RAF Valley on Anglesey.
Prince William’s younger brother, Prince Harry, is also at RAF Shawbury undergoing basic helicopter training. The brothers share a cozy cottage close to the base that is ordinarily reserved for visiting top brass.
