“I will show nudity in a film when the time is right," Hudgens, 20, told eonline.com at this weekend's Diesel Only the Brave cologne launch party in West Hollywood.
"Right now, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it, but like I said, when the time's right, if it's an amazing movie that I'm really passionate about and that's what it calls for, then we'll see."
When she does feel comfortable shedding her clothes in front of a camera, it won’t be for the first time; photos of her in various states of undress, including completely naked, appeared on the web in September 2007.
Hudgens had emailed the photos to Nickelodeon star Drake Bell a couple of years ago, before she became famous.
In a statement released after the photo leak, Hudgens asked for forgiveness from her fans, and said that the situation has left her embarrassed.
Vanessa will be next seen on the big screen on August 14, 2009 in Bandslam, a Todd Graff penned and helmed musical romance and comedy which additionally stars Ayson Michalka Gaelen Connell.
The film is around teenagers, all with a shared love of music. Most of the filming took place in Austin TX and New York City.
Vanessa was recently signed up to play the fair maiden in director Daniel Barnz's contemporary take on Beauty and the Beast, based on Alex Finn's young adult novel of the same name.
The film is being produced by Susan Cartsonis for CBS Films, which acquired the rights for the film in late 2007 as one of its first projects.
