He sat in the front row of the baseline box section and took the female attention he attracted in his stride, with many young girls coming up to him for autograph.
Joining Taylor in the crowd were late night chat show host Jimmy Kimmel and celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck; Chuck star Zachary Levi threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Dodger Stadium.
The 17-year-old's popularity skyrocketed after he bulked up for the Twilight sequel, New Moon, and gave everyone a glimpse of his rippling muscles in the first trailer of the film released during the MTV Movie awards, in which he is famously seen shirtless just before turning into werewolf.
Lautner features on the cover for the movie tie-in book edition of New Moon along with Kristen Stewart, testimony to his growing stock.
While filming for the film in Vancouver, Canada, Lautner was linked with Disney hottie Selena Gomez who was also there filming for the movie adaptation of children's book Ramona And Beezus. The two never denied or acknowledged if there was anything between the them.
“She’s a great girl, great friend,” Taylor said when Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson quizzed him about Selena Gomez. “She’s a great girl.”
Recently while talking to Ryan Seacrest on his Morning Show on June 25, Selena reiterated that she is single. Seacrest's efforts to make Selena say more on Taylor just did not succeed.
The third in the series of Twilight series, Eclipse will begin shooting in Vancouver, Canada on August 17, 2009. The shoot is scheduled to run until October 31, 2009.
The film is slotted for a June 30, 2010 release.
