The pair were reported to be secretly seeing each other for months but the claims have been dismissed.
A spokesperson for Mayer said there is "no such thing".
A rep for Cavallari, 22, confirmed that the relationship is just a rumor, telling GossipCop.com the tale is "not true".
The 31-year-old is reported to be now rekindling his love for his ex-girlfriend singer Jessica Simpson.
