The 34-year-old star has been dating the I Kissed A Girl singer, 24, for the past couple of months and he said to UK radio station Heart FM: "I wouldn't like to settle down because it's only been a couple of months so during that period if you've settled down and it's not about all whizz-bangs and elation, you're doing something terribly wrong."
He added: "I'm not settled down but I'm really very happy."
Brand was asked which of them made the first move.
He said: "She chatted me up. She's a very confident person. I was taken aback, little bit, you know, swept off my feet, intimidated. I really like her."
Asked if he is thinking of proposing this festive season, he said: "I'm not going to propose at Christmas, but I really love her."
