The two dined at Mario Batali's Del Posto and then went clubbing - first at SoHo House and then, from 1:30 am onwards, at Avenue, which they left at 3 am holding hands, according to an eyewitness.
"Rob and Kristen got wind of the scene at The Box from everybody else," a source told Usmagazine.com. "They decided not to go. They were burnt out from all the media."
According to Us magazine, Taylor Lautner joined them at SoHo House, and rocker Joan Jett met Stewart, who plays Joan's character in the upcoming film The Runaways, at Avenue.
An eyewitness at Avenue told Us weekly:
"They sat very close to each other [and] looked very happy together. They chatted together the entire time."
Earlier on Wednesday, Pattinson and Stewart partied at downtown eatery Gemma along with a group of friends, after talk show appearances to promote their film. An eyewitness said Pattinson switched places "so he could sit next to Kristen."
"They were giggling a lot, and sitting very close."
