Murray was the picture of poise and deportment as he alighted in business attire from a vehicle with a small team of minders.
He appeared to enter his clinic from the back, in video footage that surfaced. The doctor, a cardiologist who is at the red-hot centre of the Michael Jackson homicide investigation, has returned to taking care of his patients for the first time since Jackson hired him as a personal physician in May.
Murray's spokesperson, Miranda Sevcik, said: "Dr Murray is glad to be back at work, seeing his patients again. He missed his practice terribly."
She also said Murray, who is not charged with any crime, could see as many as 15 patients on his second day and may return to his practice in Las Vegas.
Ed Chernoff, Murray's lawyer, stated: "Because of a deteriorating financial condition and prompting by many of his beloved patients, on November 20th, 2009 Dr Conrad Murray resumed his cardiology practice in Houston Texas. Dr Murray plans to attend to patients in both Las Vegas and Houston. His decision to first return to practice in Houston was made because of the greater need these low-income patients have for his services and the prohibitive cost of re-opening his clinic in Las Vegas."
