March 10, 2010, (Splash News) - Michael Jackson's bodyguards have revealed that one of their main jobs was keeping the King of Pop's family away – even if it meant doing so at gunpoint, according to reports.

Muscle men Bill Whitfield, Mike Garcia and Javon "BJ" Beard worked with Jacko during the final two years of his life – and they made it clear, in an exclusive interview for US TV show Good Morning America, how distant he felt from his famous family.

Whitfield, who Jackson reportedly treated as the "gatekeeper" to his life, said: "They didn't come around much, and when they did, they came unexpected. We'd make Mr Jackson aware that one of [his] family members [was] at the gate… and he'd ask, 'Do they have an appointment?'"

Whitfield also claimed the music legend's youngest brother Randy even crashed his car through Jackson's gate on one occasion to get in – forcing them to pull guns on him.

He said: "There was another occasion when Randy came to the house and crashed the security gate with his vehicle. I drew my weapon on him and the first thing out of his mouth was, 'Get that thing out of my face or I'm calling the press'. That took me aback."

Asked whether Jackson eventually agreed to see him, Whitfield said: "No."

Randy Jackson's spokesperson Taunya Zilkie has denied the claim, saying that Randy was trying to reach Jackson to stage an intervention.

Although they were not in Los Angeles when Jackson died last June, the trio did attend his memorial at the Los Angeles Staples Centre – and said they were horrified by the hypocrisy they felt they saw.

"I looked around, I looked at a lot of celebrities, a lot of stars – it just made me wonder, where were they? Were these some of the people that turned their back on him after the second trial?" Whitfield asked, referring to the second time Jackson was accused of child abuse.

Garcia added: "The guy was so lonely, where were they?"
