My husband and I went to see Brad Pitt /Plan B's "The Assassination" and we came away quite pleased and satisfied with the movie. We are both busy just-40 something people in NYC and now quite selective about the movies that we have time for. It's exciting to note that Pitt is making much more noteworthy adaptations but then he has never made a flop either.

While "The Assassination..." may be a departure from previous movies such as "Seven Years in Tibet", still, his intense portrayal of character studies who depart from the usual Hollywoodsy style and more in relating to an universal audience appear to be a strong attraction which doesn't hurt Mr. Pitt. His portrayal of the famous outlaw Jesse James is one which fits the bill; an outlaw with an uncanny ability to perceive a lie, treachery or anything amiss, who won't hesitate on cold-blooded murder but at the same time a father and husband who strives to ensure the safety of his family. He is a man who is struggling with his fast colliding conscience and Dominik deftly directs Pitt's worthy talents to the very end.

In this era of fast stars, cars and plasticity, Pitt proves to us that he is like a well matured bottle of wine, with inherent talents lighting on the surface of his career at a time which is truly his his bronze age.
