Ortega / PR Photos16 November 2007 (Sawf News) - The 35th annual American Music Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, were held at Nokia Theatre L.A on Sunday, November 18 at 8pm ET/PT.
The celebrity laden evening saw American Idol alumni prevail. Carrie Underwood, who won the TV talent show in 2005, and Chris Daughtry, who took part in 2006, took home three awards each.
Nominees for the 35th American Music Awards were selected based on national sales and radio play.
Justin Timberlake, currently on tour in Australia, won two awards which he accepted via satellite. Akon and Rihanna took home the favorite male and female soul/R&B artist awards.
Beyoncé was honored with an International artist award.
