The album produced five hit singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA in the United States.
Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and lives with her parents, Scott and Andrea, and her brother, Austin at her home in Hendersonville, Tenn.
Taylor's sophomore album, Fearless, which released on November 11, 2008, sold 217,000 copies within the first 24 hours.
The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Its first week sales of 592,304 were the highest debut of any country artists in 2008. The album went on to top the chart for a total of 11 weeks, becoming the seventh longest-running number-one album by a female artist in the Billboard 200 history.
By April 2009, the album had sold more than 3 million copies in the US.
Swift has been working on her third studio album since April 2009.
Fearless 2009 Tour
Swift embarked on her first big U.S. headlining tour in April 2009, with Kellie Pickler and Gloriana as featured guests on all shows. The tour is set to visit 52 cities in 38 states and provinces in the US and Canada.
Fashion Range
Swift has teamed up with Jones Apparel Group's L.E.I. brand for the range called, L.E.I. Sundresses by Taylor Swift, to be retailed exclusively through Wal-Mart, and will be the face of its spring and fall 2009 ad campaign.
Taylor had starred in L.E.I. denim campaign in 2008.
The range will comprise of lightweight jersey dresses in bold colors and girly prints for just $14 each and will include a tie-back dress, printed tie-back dress and printed tier dress. Two more dresses were to be added in March 09.
Personal
Swift, says she was 15-year-old when she first kissed, and admits to being a laggard when it comes to romance, though she loves to write and sing about boys and her relationships.
Taylor Swift dated Joe Jonas for several months in 2008. He attended Swift's concert at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday night, August 17. Swift was the opening act for Rascal Flatts.
Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas never acknowledged their relationship publically.
Joe Jonas broke off the relationship in early October over the phone.
Swift says Jonas was cheating on her with 10,000 BC actress Camilla Belle.
"They've been together for months," Taylor, 18, told OK! at the 2008 Country Music Awards. "That's why we broke up."
Taylor Swift says she owed it to her fans to go public about her split with Joe Jonas.
"With this situation, I feel like I owed it to my fans to be like, 'Look, it happened, you weren't crazy,' and address it," she told MTV News. "And I addressed it, and, you know, that's a chapter in my life that's closed now."
The song Forever & Always in her album Fearless is based on Swift's relationship with Joe Jonas.
