June 24, 2009, (Sawf News) - HTC Sense, a customizable OS neutral touch optimized interface centered on contacts, was introduced with the Android based HTC Hero June 24.
HTC Sense, which could later debut on HTC Windows Mobile phones also, is focused on putting people at the centre.
It introduces a new profile feature called scenes that enables you to create different customized content profiles around specific functions or times in your life. You can emphasize different applications with each profile: widgets that push content like twitter feeds, weather and other content to the surface or quick access to business-focused information like email, calendar and world-times.
HTC Sense aims to bring you closer to your friends; their Facebook status updates and photos along with their Flickr photos are included along side their text messages, emails and call history in a single view.
Weighing 4.76 ounces with battery, the HTC Hero is based on Google's Android platform. It features 3.2-inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen with 320x480 HVGA resolution, GPS, digital compass, gravity-sensor, 5.0 megapixel color camera with auto focus, and 3.5mm stereo headset jack.
HTC Hero is the first Android phone to ship with support for Adobe Flash Platform technology.
It is powered by Qualcomm MSM7200A, 528 MHz, processor with 512 MB on board ROM and 288 MB RAM.
The 1350 mAh Lithium-ion battery allows for a talk time of 420 minutes for WCDMA and 470 minutes for GSM.
HTC Hero also includes a dedicated Search button that goes beyond basic search, providing you with a more natural, contextual search experience that enables you to search through Twitter, locate people in your contact list, find emails in your inbox or search in any other area in Hero.
The HTC Hero will be available to people across Europe in July and in Asia later in the summer. A distinct North American version will be available later in 2009.
